We spent Saturday celebrating the Chinese New Year. This was a notable day for me, and not just because I spent time outdoors, voluntarily, in the daytime. [Jaws drop…somebody screams.] This was my first parade and my first visit to Chinatown (“forget it, Jake”). We had a great time hanging out with friends for the afternoon and watching the festivities, although the sun caught up to me later in the form of a blistering headache — time for some real sunglasses, ow!
In the evening we went up to Jenn’s martial arts school for a holiday party, where we got to witness a number of demonstrations — kung fu, karate, weapons, and some very cool free-running. Overall it was a great day, and one that made me really appreciate living in LA, where there are so many opportunities to see cool, interesting stuff. Happy Year of the Ox! 🙂
