January Fiction at Futurismic: “White Swan” by Jason Stoddard

January 4, 2010

I’m pleased to announce that we’ve lifted the fiction hiatus at Futurismic with a terrific new story by Jason Stoddard, “White Swan,” which paints an engaging and convincing near-future picture. I hope you’ll stop over and give it a look!

We’ve also got something lined up for February, and I’m working away at the slushpile in search of more, so hopefully we can really start building our inventory back up.  So far it looks like our call for submissions paid off!

I was listening to an old sofanauts episode on the way to work and it was VERY cool to hear Paul Graham say great things about both you AND Jason Stoddard. Paul’s audio is flaky on other episodes, but fairly clear on this one.

Thanks for steering me toward that podcast! I hadn’t heard it. Paul is a great guy. I’m particularly fond of his take on Mundane SF — he echoes my opinion just about precisely, but much more eloquently than I would have said it. An unfairly maligned subgenre in my view…
