Accelerated Growth Environment is a brisk, uplifting read, another fine vehicle for the author’s environmental themes and smooth, engaging style. The tense futuristic thriller proceedings are anchored by a nuanced romantic subplot, while the atificial companion Savvy provides charming comic relief. Meanwhile, the narrative thoughtfully wrestles with our decade’s key dilemma: charting a healthy, viable path forward in the face of an entrenched, toxic history. In that sense, Jorna’s personal life cleverly parallels the broader scientific mission — and speaks powerfully to the urgent systemic reform the world currently needs to face.
