Mission: Impossible ran out its clock as a shadow of its former self in season seven, victimized by premise fatigue, a budget-conscious look, and an increasingly less capable writing staff. Making things worse, Lynda Day George missed a number of episodes on maternity leave. There are some odd bright spots, including frequent fill-in Barbara Anderson, but overall season seven is Mission’s “for diehards only” season.
